EMS Explorers was established in 1987 by Mr. Vern Hunter. Currently the Post has maintained membership of about 35 young adults ranging in ages from 12 years to 19 years of age, with a preferred membership of 40.
What goes on in Explorers? Exploring is an opportunity for teenagers / young adults to explore certain career opportunities and interests in career paths, while at the same time learn and obtain knowledge, experience and core values. Post 181 falls under the Health Career Group. Here, our primary environment is Emergency Services and Pre-hospital emergency patient care. It is our goal to expose the Explorers to all forms of careers related to emergency services and the medical field, which are quite vast. Exploring is part of Learning for Life and managed through the Boy Scouts of America Council - Connecticut Yankee Council
We currently meet every Wednesday evening (except the last Wednesday of the month) between 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hunter's Ambulance Training Center in Meriden, CT. If you would like to help support Post 181 and the youth of our community, you can make a financial contribution to: EMS Explorer Post 181, 450 West Main St, Meriden, CT 06451
