EMT Refreshers
EMT refresher scheduled for June 6 - June 18 and is designed for those expiring during the summer of 2005. The course will meet on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The course cost includes the AAOS EMT-B refresher book, AHA Healthcare provider book and card with a 2 year expireation date.

Healthcare Provider CPR
The Healthcare Provider course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
Intended audience:
Healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants and other allied health personnel.

ACLS Full Course
The ACLS course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, 4 types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), 4 types of prearrest emergencies (bradychardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, and acute coronary syndromes), and stroke.
Audience: Personnel staffing emergency, intensive care, or critical care departments; emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists; and other professionals who may have a need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
Course inculdes AHA textbook and upon successful completion a 2 year ACLS provider card.
Note: There is a minimum participant enrollment requirement for this course.

PALS Full Course
The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support course is to provide the learner with: 1) information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; 2) information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children; and 3) the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.
Intended Audience: Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedical personnel, respiratory therapists and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well-being of infants and children.
Course inculdes AHA textbook and upon successful completion a 2 year PALS provider card.
Note: There is a minimum participant enrollment requirement for this course.
