Emergency Care and Safety Institute Training



at Hunter's AmbulanceThe Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) is a partnership between the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), two renowned medical organizations standing behind the content of ECSI training materials.  ECSI training leads to certifications that meet job-related requirements as defined by regulatory authorities such as OSHA, JCAHO, and state offices of EMS, Education and Health.  Courses can be delivered in standard classroom format or some courses can be delivered in blended on-line learning with a face to face skills examination.

Courses include: 

BLAST! (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training)
This 4 hour course is developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics BLAST! is an important course for potential babysitters and parents considering hiring a babysitter.  The BLAST! course is exciting and interactive, providing extensive training in pediatric first aid, household safety, and fundimentals of childcare.

Bloodborne Pathogens
This 2 hour program is designed to meet current OSHA training requirements, this course was created for students and employees who have potential for occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.  Bloodborne Pathogens includes supplemental information on airborne pathogens such as tuberculosis.

Oxygen Adminsitration
 The 1 1/2 hour course address the use of oxygen in emergency situations by laypersons and professional responders.  Key topics in the Oxygen Administration course include the components that make up an emergency oxygen system, various types of oxygen delivery devices, and important safety, storgae, service and maintenance steps regarding the use of supplemental oxygen.
